Tight Ends At Georgia Tech Aim For A Productive 2025

Georgia Tech's tight end group enters the upcoming season with strong optimism. Much like several other position groups on the team, the tight ends assembled for 2025- 6 represent an intriguing group of players with strong experience blended with talented, but less experienced younger players .

Nathan Brock said as much at a recent press conference focusing on his group.
He cited three seniors– Brett Seither, JT Byrne and Josh Beetham, and he praised their work habits and de facto leadership amongst the younger members of the group.
Brock said that Cal transfer JT Byrne has "... a very mature mindset on how he handles his business...he just goes about it the right way".
Brock also lauded Seither in that regard, noting that this "... is camp number seven for Brett so he's been around it and been through a lot."
Brock also praised redshirt freshman Luke Harpring, saying that he has "... made tremendous strides" and is "always looking to improve ".
Brock spoke well of Tech's new- found depth at tight end, saying he had several guys that he could comfortably use in the game. His group also stands out for their overall competitiveness, which helps as they " push each other".
Brock allowed as how he has pushed his group in all facets, including run- blocking, pass protection and running routes and catching the ball. To boil it down, he said," I want our group to be feared (by the other team), feared how they can block and for how they can run by them and catch footballs."
So the opponent will say ," Hey- we've got to account for them ( Tech tight ends) in all facets of the game".

Brock also noted that he stays in touch with former Yellow Jacket tight end Jackson Hawes, who is on tbe Buffalo Bill's roster in the NFL. Brock said he will try to get to see Hawes in action later this fall when Buffalo takes on the Falcons.
In making that roster, Hawes continues a recent trend of Tech tight ends finding success in the NFL. Other recent Yellow Jacket tight ends who have played witb NFL teams include Luke Benson and Dylan Leonard from Tech's 2024 team.. Before them, Tyler Davis (2019) had multi-year success in the league.
That kind of success at football's highest level speaks well for the development and the sound play that tight ends can achieve as members of the Yellow Jackets.
