Tech Tussles With Seminoles at McCamish
On the first beautiful Saturday (weather-wise) of 2026 in Atlanta, Georgia Tech faced FSU. Tech also faced the unwieldy weight of a nine- game losing streak in the ACC, one that spells likely absence in the league tournament two weeks hence.

On this day, once again, those weights were too heavy for Damon Stoudamire's troops to bear. Tech fell to the visiting Seminoles, 80-71, in a game thst rarely felt that close.

In today's episode, the first four minutes saw Baye Ndongo pick up two fouls. That earned Tech's biggest threat some significant bench time, made worse when he got his third foul later in the half. As Stoudamire would comment later, Ndongo is a player that FSU would have to scheme for on both ends of the floor. So when he's not on the floor, it's a bigger challenge for the Jackets.
On this day, Tech was not up to a bigger challenge. They pulled closer mid - second half before Florida State stretched things out again, coasting to a nine- point victory, 80-71 in a game that the hosts never led.
Ndongo played only 16 plus minutes before fouling out. Stoudamire gently defended his big man's proclivity to foul, saying that some of those calls were a result of teammates' issues on defense.
Post- game, though, a pensive Stoudamire did lament his team's lack of physicality, wishing aloud that his players "... were a little bit tougher."
The overall tone of the post -game conversation was dreary and downcast, which made sense but was still difficult to embrace. Georgia Tech has now lost 10 consecutive ACC games. They are mired at the bottom of their 18 school conference and it will be shocking if they get to the conference tournament.
That's the bigger picture that pervaded the post- game mood and it is safe to say that no one saw a season like this unfolding back in October.
All too familiar 10 point deficit at 10 minute mark. Prior came reversed out call, ball to Fsu who hit layup on inbound pass.
FSYMU Coach Loucks would call this a "margins game."
And he said that second-chance points were the big difference. His Seminoles prevailed in that department by a __ to __ margin.
2nd chance 18-4
Fast break 17-2. Fsu
--Bball gods reward good behavior.. icing on the cake– but you gotta build the cake..
