Tech Takes On OU In Game 7

If you had asked anyone affiliated with Georgia Tech baseball back on New Year's Day if they would be happy playing a Game 7 as a regional tournament host in 2026, they would likely have given a resounding "Yes"!
That's where they are today, but the way they got here seems a bit unsettling.
Last night Georgia Tech lost to Oklahoma 15- 8, in a game thst showed the Jackets what it felt like all year long to other teams thst had to play the Yellow Jackets.
OU pummeled Tech pitchers to regain and extend a lead, after falling behind early by six runs.
From there, Tech had no answers, either on the mound or at the plate.
A cursory look at 2026 suggests that
Tech had no other time this year in which they failed to score over a five inning stretch in a single game.
For the second game in a row, the Jackets garnered only eight hits– not horrible, but most un- Tech- like for this season.
The question now is, what will unfold today?
Casey Stengel famously said" Good pitching will stop good hitting, and vice versa."

Will Tech face good pitching again today? If so, can they push through for more run support while their own pitching staff tries to find its missing MOJO?
Can Tech regain its bold mood, and play with verve and confidence?

James Ramsey believes they can. Drew Burress believes they will.
The answer will tumble out today in Atlanta, first pitch 3pm EST.
And... just wondering– will we see Tech pitcher Mason Patel today?
