Georgia Tech Wins The ACC Baseball Tournament And Will Host The NCAA Regional Tournament

Georgia Tech's baseball team finished the week just as they started. Namely, as the most productive offense in the country, an accomplishment that was only enhanced by their dominant performance the team turned in Charlotte.
Details? How about winning three successive games, by counts of 16-10 ( over Virginia) , then 9- 3 ( over Miami) and finally a finals win over North Carolina by a 13-6 margin.
Tech's powerful lineup was unrelenting through the week, against top- notch pitching, which served to cement their reputation as big- time mashers.
The result was their first ACC Tournament crown since 2014.
The team stats bear that out, as does Ryan Zuckerman s selection as Tournament MVP. But what is just as impressive is Tech's steady focus on higher prizes.
Today's Tournament selection has added Oklahoma, UIC and The Citadel to fill out the card for the Atlanta regional to take place at Tech's home field at Mac Nease Baseball Park.
The games begin on Friday May 29 with a double- elimination format. The winner will advance to a super regional round, and the winners of those eight tourneys will then proceed to Omaha as one of the final eight.
Tech Coach James Ramsey has said repeatedly that this squad is special and they hold an appropriately special goal– to get to Omaha and to prevail.
The week ahead will tell the next chapter.
